Developing Your Brand Language & Voice

$79.00

In this 1.5 hour workshop, we’ll discover and build context for how your messaging, language and images convey your brand, products and services. With some brief prework prior to the workshop, viewing similar practitioners marketing materials, you’ll share phrases and images with me and your peers that you believe illustrate your brand, products and services, and receive realtime feedback on what lands and resonates.

Description

What words and images, tone conveys what you offer clients?

When you’re growing your business, consistency is key.

The voice you use in your website, emails, marketing and promotions is an invitation to your ideal client to come work with you. If your voice is not redolent with the work you do, the dissonance will be apparent.

Messaging that is inconsistent conveys a lack of authority, and creates unconscious confusion and resistance in your potential clients.

Examples:

I don’t use the word ‘healing’ very often in my brand. I use ‘evolution’.
I don’t use the word ‘healer’ at EHI. I believe professionalism is conveyed through the use of the word, ‘practitioner’.

Imagery that is at odds with what you say you deliver is off-putting. Even something as simple as offering three skills in a workshop, and showing an image of 4 stacked rocks sets an incoherent tone.

Example:

I don’t show a lot of images of spacescapes to convey energy. My brand is very grounded and practical, using Earth-based imagery, flowers, plants, trees, nature.

Getting clear on your Voice, Tone & Imagery

You’ll spend time describing your service offering and we’ll workshop voice, tone and imagery options that support your brand. You’ll leave the workshop with ideas for harmonizing your offering with your voice, and for developing consistency across all of your marketing, promotion and client-facing materials.

Suggested pre-work:

Spend about 30 minutes looking at the websites of peer practitioners who offer similar services. What words stand out as relevant to your target client? What words repel? What images match the written message and brand? How did they make you feel? Which images felt off target or didn’t deliver the tonal quality you feel is important? Screenshot images, make a list of the words and phrases to bring to the workshop.
