Clients sometimes ask energy healing practitioners for root-cause information about their case, information that is often described as a ‘hit’.
Is this a good plan? Are ‘hits’ how we should assess and ‘diagnose’?
It’s important to understand how intuition can get muddled when it’s generated from a lack of containment and clarity.
I’ll discuss the mechanics of what can happen, how intuition can go awry, so you can better discern information given to you by someone else, or perhaps instead use your own aligned knowing to inform your issue or decision.
What is an Intuitive Hit?
There’s a common phrase in the lexicon, ‘always trust your gut’. Sounds good, right? In reality, that may not be the best place to put your trust and decision-making authority. Here’s why.
Gut instinct, often an informative knot in the pit of your stomach, going with your gut – these experiences are informed entirely through the Astral second chakra. Located just below the navel, the 2nd chakra is the energy center that generates your authentic emotional experience. It’s important!
I’m not invalidating the 2nd chakra at all. But here’s the thing to understand: when the 2nd chakra is dysregulated, a couple of things can happen that distort intuitive information.
- A second chakra that is driven by a particular emotion, say anxiety or shame, imposes information that skews perspective on an issue or choice. For example, someone with anxiety who begins to feel unwell could have a ‘gut feeling’ that something is seriously amiss. Perhaps that’s true, perhaps anxiety is driving the ‘hit’.
- Sorry to say this, but a dysregulated second chakra is a vacuum for other people’s energy. And it vacuums in whatever your go-to emotions are: anxiety, anger, depression, fear, shame. It can become a bit of a swamp, my good friends. So a ‘gut feeling’ is likely awash in emotional energy from others. It’s not really an authentic ‘gut feeling’!
The bottom line: an overburdened second chakra — either from a core emotional pattern, such as anxiety, or from vacuuming other people’s emotional energy — displaces your own authentic, dynamic emotional energy and makes it impossible to get a clean ‘hit’.
Without a firm grasp of energy regulation and energy hygiene, well meaning practitioners can unknowingly provide inaccurate or inappropriate data to their clients.
Align with your Knowing
Because of this, EHI cautions practitioners not to work with ‘intuition’ or ‘insights’ that are driven from the gut, or 2nd chakra. We liken it to the difference between drinking water from a clean water source and drinking water from a mud puddle. Yes, that’s graphic, but it makes a solid point, right?
Now, let’s get into the alternative way of gathering inner information. Knowing (a term we prefer over intuition because of the lack of a pure definition of intuition’s source), comes into the head as a formed idea, then aligns through the central core of your being. This happens through energy centers in the head that are much less ‘available’ to unconscious material from others, nor do they filter your emotional stuff or engage with your core patterns, like anxiety or shame, fear or anger.
When you have a knowing, your entire energy body is engaged; all your chakras and their organic partnerships, your aura, are working in tandem and promote a sense of clarity. Everything feels calm and aligned. We suspect that you’ve had a knowing before, and felt the absolute clarity that emerges. Even if the knowing is that an illness is percolating in your body, there’s clarity and a calm sense that supports taking right action.
This is at the heart of our practitioner programs, and what we encourage our clients to actively cultivate.
Autonomy and sovereignty are absolute
Occasionally, during case supervision meetings, EHI practitioners will seek advice for how to handle a situation where a client asks ‘what’s your intuitive hit?’ on their concern, issue, health condition, relationship.
Our feedback is forever and always the same. We respect our clients’ autonomy and sovereignty and encourage them to cultivate their knowing. We recognize that we run the risk of usurping their authority when we chime in with our ‘hits’. Helping clients to discern the difference between a second chakra ‘hit’ and an aligned knowing supports their ability to be grounded, sovereign and clear. We celebrate that!
Psychic or Intuitive Hits
Beyond that, it’s really important to understand that any psychic material that is perceived in an energy field is a snapshot taken at this moment in time. If I take a picture of you this very second and you’re smiling — that’s what you’re doing right now. A second later, you could be frowning, or angry, or sad.
What your energy says at any given moment is not predictive. It’s information. Subject to change, simply by taking a breath, or turning your attention elsewhere.
Taking a ‘hit’ and turning it into an absolute is a risky proposition. I mean, maybe your psychic is right and you’ll meet your soulmate in six months…but what happens if you don’t, and you passed up a date with a great person at the 4 month mark because you didn’t want to waste your time?
Your Internal Compass
We trust that each one of us has an internal compass that knows the way to go. We trust that each one of us can tune into our knowing and find our way forward.
Might a ‘hit’ be accurate? Sure! And it also might not be.
For us, knowing is the way to go. We hope it is for you, too!
