Living in Southern Maine, CK is acutely aware that fall is enroute and winter is a tad behind that. There’s a lot to do to get ready for the quiet and stillness of land at rest. And the process of putting our teensy little farm to rest for the winter begins now.
The summer veggies are harvested and stored, the late season squashes, kales, chard, onions, sweet potatoes are just beginning to contemplate their final moments of growing.
It’s fun to look back at the ebbing season and inventory the harvest, take stock of what’s been put away.
- Strawberries
- Blueberries
- Blackberries
- Green beans
- Broccoli
- Pesto
- Corn
- Pickles
- Breads
- Garlic
- Honey
This is also a nice time of year to look back at the harvest of experiences, healings, lessons, AFGO’s (another freakin’ growth opportunity) and challenges that have been met and integrated.
- Letting go – of grievances, sadness, old ways, beliefs
- Harvesting – peace, joy, new ways and expansion of thoughts, ideas
- Releasing – people, stuff, clutter, stuck energy, blockages
- Welcoming – relationships, gifts, clarity, flow, ease
One client recently mentioned that the process of cleaning and sorting out the evidence of her past, from childhood to adulthood was generating deep changes within, yet to be revealed externally. She has no idea what’s coming, she just knows that it is on its way. The revealing of what emerges is the magical element of the clearing and releasing process for her; she’s manifesting through her authentic, in-the-now energy as she lets go of what was held in stagnation.
Trust me, she let go of most things, her job, her relationships, her outdated roles in her family, relationships and work life. For a while, she even had a health crisis that created a need to forgo most physical activity to allow time and space to heal.
And as the letting go and releasing takes place, the energy scales tip from emptying to filling. Nature abhors a vacuum, yes? So at some point in time, the vacuum of nothingness is created – perhaps at differing degrees of emptiness. For some the process seems to require an excavation to the foundation before beginning anew. For others, the process is less drastic, a renovation rather than a tear-down.
No matter, the filling happens. With time, with space and from the emptiness.
This season of incredible bounty, fullness, lush growth and ample yield is such a fabulous incentive to see that life is a circle, that our processes and our growth is cyclical and circular. An unending cycle that always creates new fullness, to be then emptied through our experiences, our letting go, our releasing.
Another friend shared a story about some deep wounds from another time and place in her life receiving balm and healing over the past two weeks. She found a way to let go of old holdings that were then refilled with delicious new experiences that modeled her growth, evolution and healing.
Bounty!
So as the fall beckons, take note, harvest your growth and your healings. Notice what you’ve released, let go, surrendered, eliminated, left behind. And then celebrate your harvest of new ideas, expansion, relationships. And if they have yet to emerge, celebrate the void that you’ve created, knowing that your intention, your energy and your attention will yield results in collaboration with the Universe.
Keep your vital energy flowing!
