At least two to three times a month, Ellen and I field inquiries about how to stop psychic interference. What do we mean by psychic interference? Listed below are some common forms:
- beings, entities – interacting without permission or invitation
- possession – being taken over by a being or entity
- being ‘read’ by others – ‘your aura looks really ragged. Are you ok?’
- feeling pulled on by other people’s agendas & emotions – caretaking, guilt, and shame often accompany this
- empathic overwhelm – needing to isolate, feeling awash and depleted
- inappropriate or unwanted feedback & guidance from ‘spirit guides’ – constant chatter, and ‘you shoulds’
- energetic infiltration from others, often of a sexual nature, often at night – sometimes a projection, other times a reality
Not one of these experiences is fun. Not one of these experiences are welcome, inviting, or feel spiritually based. But they tend to happen to people who are spiritually inclined.
Too often, (in my opinion), people go to well-meaning psychics, who turn the experiences into woo-based ideology. You were twin souls with this person in a past life. You’re working out karma together. You’re being called to be a ‘healer’. Your aura is green, so you should expect this from others; because they sense your spiritual purity.
Sometimes the struggling individual ends up with a more nefarious sort of psychic. ‘You’re being possessed and for $1500 and using a piece of your jewelry, I’ll sever the connection with the demon.’ And people pay the money, hand over the jewelry, and still have problems with feeling overtaken or possessed.
Why Does Psychic Interference Happen?
Honestly, every one of these issues has to do with energy containment and regulation, and sovereignty. Every one.
The answer may not be as sexy as the twin flame idea, or the past life connection (and um, why are they only past lives? No one ever talks about future lives? Never mind. Another post for another time. But I’ll come back to this, I promise.) And honestly, the answer may not be as ‘one and done’ as paying someone to hold onto a piece of jewelry while severing a connection.
Colander vs. Bucket with no Bottom
If you want to drain cooked pasta, what do you use? A colander. What does the colander do? It sieves away the water, while containing the pasta. You wouldn’t use a bucket with a hole in the bottom for this task, because both the water and the pasta would flow right out of the pot. No containment!
If possession, psychic interference, beings, entities ‘inappropriate guidance’, empathic sensitivity (HSP) & overwhelm are concerns, you’re more like a bucket with a hole in it than a colander.
Antidote to Psychic Interference
Energy regulation and containment is about setting up your energy field so that you are present, aligned and connected to yourself. Your Beliefs About Psychic Interference
Bottom line: your belief systems are the absolute core of your problems with psychic interference. Your beliefs form your world. They literally create your reality. So doing the work of mining and evolving your belief systems can be a pretty important thing.
You may find that you’re buying into the idea that someone else has the POWER to infiltrate your energy. You may think that you aren’t strong enough or powerful enough to DEFEND yourself from the infiltration. You may believe that you were born an empath, and this is how your life is going to roll. You may even have a little hidden part of yourself that finds this all fascinating, and believes that it in some way makes you special or unique.
When you evolve your belief systems and embrace your sovereignty, you’ll have the power, you’ll contain your energy, and there will be zero need to defend against anything!
My Story of Psychic Interference
Years ago, when I stepped away from organized religion and into exploring my spirituality, I had a lot of problems with beings in my field. Some seemed benign and lovely. Others were problematic and difficult for me to manage.
As an adult, I had entered the world of software sales, at the time, a male dominated arena. I spent a lot of time in bars, hanging out with the guys, trying to build business relationships and connections. One of the beings jumped into my space whenever I was in a bar with peers or colleagues. It wasn’t until later that I learned that what I thought was me, was actually a being!
If you know me at all, you know I love to laugh. And I love puns, and good jokes (not mean or demeaning ones). Believe it or not, I had a dirty joke being in my field. I’d walk into a bar with the guys, and I could outjoke anyone! It was one of the ways I connected with my male peers.
When I learned energy regulation and containment – the very skills EHI offers – the game was up with the dirty joke guide. Ironically, when the being left my field, I only knew 3 dirty jokes. I discovered that the guide had all the goods – not me! I can still remember the 3 dirty jokes I know, but I’m not going to tell them here!
Beyond that, the game was up with all the other seemingly benign and lovely ‘guides’, too. If they wanted to be in my field, they were the wrong ones for me!
Why did I let go of the ‘good’ guides?
Sovereignty is Absolute – Vanquishing Psychic Interference
Sovereignty became my guidepost. I truly embraced the knowledge that Sovereignty is Absolute. I say it all the time to clients and students: Sovereignty is Absolute. You’re either Sovereign…or you’re not. There’s no middle ground here, people. No gray area. Your space is yours. My space is mine. You’re either Sovereign…or you’re not.
Since a lovely person is emailing me right now about her concerns about psychic infiltration, I’ve written this post. For her. For you. For anyone who may need help understanding that the power of sovereignty and containment lies within you.
It may take some diligence to regain your sovereignty. You’re worth it. Claim it, contain your field, mine your beliefs and own your sovereignty. And then notice that you’re no longer troubled with psychic interference.
